Gainsbourg is a British couture and luxury tailoring label launched in London in 2018 by Caroline Templeton and Samson Dougal. With a team of in-house couturiers, Savile Row tailors and contributing designers with over 100 years of shared experience.

The Gainsbourg design atelier does not carry Ready-To-Wear but instead focuses on offering a unique made-to-measure service where one can be confident in the hands of a dynamic design team that marries fresh and contemporary style with decades of couture know-how, craftsmanship and expertise.

The atelier is unique in offering patrons the freedom to realise the wardrobes they have always dreamt of owning, a wardrobe of impeccably fitted garments, that enhance the body and which are available in an infinite variation of beautiful textiles and colours.

Making considered fashion purchases ensures women get exactly what they want, reducing the risk of impulse buys that end up in the bin. The made to order model also ensures that we do not carry surplus unwanted stock.

We focus on British fine mills and European silk suppliers with award winning eco-sustainability criteria.

Gainsbourg prides itself on making clothes that are timeless as well as beautiful, impeccably constructed and finished with an obsessive attention to detail. We aim to fill wardrobes with pieces that are guaranteed to be much loved and returned to again and again.

During an initial consultation we discuss the outfit requirements, take measurements and look at fabrics swatches.

We then start work on a unique pattern drawn to the clients measurements and stitch together a first draft crafted in a toile material.

In the first fitting we adjust the fit, amend any details, finalise fabric choices and discuss any additional specific details.

Then the real fun starts, making the outfits up in the chosen materials ready for the second fitting. If minimal adjustments are needed the items can be delivered within the week, however additional fittings may be required to make sure the item is absolutely perfect.

For ease and discretion we are available for at home and in office fittings.

The whole process takes on average 6 - 8 weeks.
